The popular actor and performer of "Jedermann," Philipp Hochmair, presents an evening that intricately weaves together literature and music with grand, theatrical expressiveness: He reads from Adalbert Stifter's tale "Der Hagestolz" while guiding the audience through Stifter's landscape imagery as well as the tension between youth and old age, intimacy and loneliness. Between the text passages, the Austrian Salonists add musical highlights with specially arranged excerpts from the works of Anton Bruckner – in an unusual chamber ensemble featuring violin, bayan (accordion), cello, and double bass. This creates a flowing dialogue of word and sound that opens new perspectives on Stifter's narrative and makes the evening an immersive "word-sound" experience. Convincing and intense!
