Matinee Festival Strings Lucerne

On August 26, 1956, the chamber orchestra founded by violinists Wolfgang Schneiderhan and Rudolf Baumgartner held its inaugural concert. Just before their 70th anniversary, the world-famous Festival Strings Lucerne, along with their artistic director Daniel Dodds, will make a stop in Grafenegg – with a dreamlike program: Elgar's early String Serenade combines a pastoral-elegiac idyll with playful charm, while Mozart's "Jupiter" Symphony hides melancholic traits behind its majestic facade. Mozart's Concerto for Flute, Harp, and Orchestra is one of his most cherished treasures, ideal for the exquisite duo from the Vienna Philharmonic, solo flutist Karl-Heinz Schütz and solo harpist Anneleen Lenaerts.
