CHARITY EVENT - "What a Theater"

Maria Köstlinger was born in 1972 in Stockholm. However, the choice of Vienna as her home city came after she grew up in the Mozart city of Salzburg. As the daughter of tenor Josef Köstlinger and his Swedish wife Kerstin, she was raised as a typical "theater child." The foundations for her career were laid early on. Today, she is one of the most recognized faces in the Austrian film and television scene.

She never attended an acting school. Embracing the motto "learning by doing," she began her theater career in 1994 at the Salzburg State Theater. Since 1996, she has been a member of the ensemble at the Theater in der Josefstadt, and in 2023, she was awarded the honorary title of "Kammerschauspielerin." Her nomination for the Nestroy Audience Award in 2011 for the theater production "Blackbird" at the Theater in der Josefstadt was a significant milestone in her professional career. She became particularly popular for her portrayal of Waltraud "Walli" Steinberg in the successful series "Vorstadtweiber," which aired from 2015 to 2022.

Juergen Maurer was born in 1967 in Klagenfurt. After completing his secondary education at BRG Viktring, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. He played his first roles at the Theater der Jugend and the Volkstheater. From 1997 to 2012, Maurer was a member of the ensemble at the Vienna Burgtheater, where he played leading roles in plays such as "Der Zerrissene," "Reigen," and "Verbrennungen." Since 2008, Juergen Maurer has appeared in numerous television productions, including several episodes of the crime series "Tatort." In the crime film series "Neben der Spur" (2015 to 2022), he starred in the lead role of Commissioner Vincent Ruiz.

Juergen Maurer has been in a relationship with actress Maria Köstlinger since 2016, with whom he also worked on the television series "Vienna Blood." In the autumn of 2024, he will be seen for the first time on screen with his daughter Mara Romei in the television crime drama "Lasser ermittelt – Ein Weinviertel-Krimi," directed by Andreas Schmied for ServusTV. In addition to his acting career, he is active as a painter and draftsman. His works will be exhibited at the Gugging Gallery in 2025.
