Untere Donaulände 7, 4010 Linz

In this concert for students aged 10 and above, the Brucknerhaus organ, played by world star Cameron Carpenter, meets a silent film by the legendary director and actor Charlie Chaplin.

In The Tramp, Chaplin plays a vagrant who experiences many adventures: after he protects a girl from three robbers, she helps him find work on her father's farm as a thank you. He falls head over heels in love with the girl, but when her fiancé comes to visit, he realizes that he must move on. The comedy from 1915 is one of Chaplin's early works, and his unique slapstick style is already in full bloom. But what would a silent film be without the right music? The organ virtuoso Cameron Carpenter – himself a big Chaplin fan – will accompany The Tramp live on the largest instrument in the Brucknerhaus. After the film, he will introduce us to his "one-man orchestra" and share his special relationship with the organ.
