The jazz pianist Martin Gasselsberger likes to leave things to chance: seemingly out of nowhere, the brilliant improviser creates complex sound worlds. In this, he stands in the tradition of Anton Bruckner, who himself was highly skilled and imaginative at the organ, which is one reason why few compositions for the instrument by him have survived. Together with Klaus Dickbauer, Gasselsberger now engages in a dialogue with the Upper Austrian Symphony Orchestra: from familiar and unfamiliar themes, rhythms, and motifs from Bruckner's works, a new sound narrative unfolds – with an uncertain outcome! The musical journey of discovery by Gasselsberger and Dickbauer could potentially lead to the realization that contemporary jazz and late Romantic symphonic music are not as far apart as one might assume. In the special ambiance of the Brunnhofer Gallery, the evening becomes an experience: in an intimate atmosphere, close to the musicians, surrounded by contemporary art.
