Aurich Christmas Magic

The Christmas lights will illuminate the city from November 24 to December 30, 2025. The Christmas magic that extends across the entire marketplace is one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in East Frisia. Located in the midst of a festively decorated pedestrian zone, this small town in East Frisia exudes a special charm, especially during this time of year, captivating both locals and visitors.

Traditions and New Highlights
Key features include the nativity scene of the Ecumenical community, the Advent calendar of the merchants of Aurich, and the large nativity scene at the globe fountain. Santa Claus opens the next door of the Advent calendar daily at 5 PM from December 1 to 23. The ten-meter-high Christmas tree with carillon, the starry sky, and the new Christmas huts create a festive atmosphere. Wednesdays are family days with discounted offers and a children's program. On December 28, there will be a shopping Sunday from 1 PM to 6 PM.

Activities and Events
Digital scavenger hunt "Wiehnachtstour": From November 24 to 30, visitors can answer questions at five stations and win one of ten 50-euro vouchers (info: wiehnachtstour.de). "Gig & Glühwein": Music in the Christmas village by Janine Meyer (November 28, December 19, December 27), Jürgen Brinker (December 5), Peter Focken (December 12), and Helmut Bengen (December 23) from 7 PM to 10 PM. Aurich Christmas Singing: On December 22 (6 PM - 7 PM), the Christmas village invites everyone to sing together for a good cause. Proceeds will go to "A Heart for East Frisia."

- Young-People-Award "Golden Pyramid": The award ceremony for young volunteers will take place on November 30 at 3 PM at the XXL Pyramid.
2nd Aurich Christmas Talk: On December 11 (7 PM), Dieter Eilts will speak at the Lambertikirche about values and new paths after a sports career. Admission is free, registration at auricher-weihnachtstalk.de. Historical Lecture Series: On November 26 and December 10 (each at 7 PM), the shooting club will show rare archival footage of the city's history. Tickets: 12 euros at the ON Media Store.

Lottery "Golden 7" and Lego Building Competition
The 41st draw of the "Golden 7" offers prizes worth around 120,000 euros. Tickets are available for 2 euros at the Christmas pyramid. The Lego building competition for children up to 14 years is themed "My Favorite Place in Aurich!" and will conclude with an award ceremony on January 5, 2026, at the EEZ.

Christmas Village and Collector's Mug
In the northern area of the marketplace, the Christmas village invites visitors to linger with Finnish barrels and a kota. A new musical program will take place on Friday evenings. This year's Christmas mug features the Aurich skyline in dark green and gold and is available at the serving establishments as well as in the E-Center.
