For 35 years, Constanze Friend and Thomas Fellow have been successfully performing together on stage. The duo was formed in 1991, although both artists had already met in the 1980s. The early days of Friend N Fellow were shaped by the influences of various music legends, such as Ray Charles, Al Jarreau, and Luther Allison, whose tours they supported as opening acts. They still consider Allison one of their most important sources of inspiration.
