150 Years of Fire and Flame Join us with Fire Chief André Völzke on an exciting journey through the history of the professional fire department of Braunschweig. Together, we will take a look at the places where the Braunschweig fire department has operated. Some fire stations from the past have taken on new roles today, but their legacy lives on. We will examine the working conditions of firefighters and visit sites where they practiced their profession. The history of the professional fire department of Braunschweig is closely intertwined with the urban and industrial history of Braunschweig and tells how emergency responders have shaped the development of the city.
