Experience the Natural World of Lieberoser Heide

Join us on this day tour of the Lieberose wilderness area, located in East Germany's largest former military training ground, amidst the natural world of Lieberoser Heide. In addition to information about the history of the area, you will learn exciting facts about wilderness and its animal inhabitants during this extensive tour. Wilderness ambassador Traugott Heinemann-Grüder will show you what true wilderness means, why it is so important, and which species benefit from it. You will also gain insights into the fascinating habitats of the wilderness area, along with their associated animals and plants.

Meeting Point: Parking lot at Wildnispfad/Bergsee (500 m north of the town exit sign of 15913 Butzen on the right side)

Duration: Approximately 8 hours

Notes: Limited number of participants, registration required. Participation fee: €8 per adult, free for children. We recommend sturdy footwear, sufficient water, snacks, and sun protection if needed. The route is approximately 17 km long, and a good basic fitness level is required. We welcome donations for wilderness protection. This tour is part of the "Ranger and Experience Tours" program.
