For twenty-five years now, singer and actor Gustav Peter Wöhler and his band have been performing together on stage. The actor's current "second pillar" is preceded by a lifelong passion: as a child, Gustav Peter Wöhler loved to entertain guests at his parents' inn near Herford with the jukebox, and later he performed purely out of passion in the cafeteria of the Hamburg Schauspielhaus. The Gustav Peter Wöhler Band, in its current lineup, has been around since 2008; alongside frontman Gustav Peter Wöhler, bassist Olaf Casimir, guitarist Mirko Michalzik, and Kai Fischer on piano and keyboards complete the group. With their unique arrangements of classics and discoveries from pop and rock, this former Hamburg insider tip has steadily gained nationwide recognition, and the quartet's honest, passionate musicianship captivates audiences everywhere. The quartet's program features a constantly changing collection of personal favorite songs. In a tried-and-true manner, the program bridges the gap between stars and one-hit wonders, classics and personal discoveries. The repertoire ranges from George Harrison to Paul Simon and Randy Newman, to Rio Reiser and June Carter. The songs are framed by very personal stories from Gustav Peter Wöhler, and the audience responds with standing ovations!
