Fishing boat tour

On this tour, you travel on a real fishing boat, which is otherwise used for its original purpose, fishing. Since it is not designed for transporting people in regular use, the makeshift seating is simple, and the impression of nature is more immediate: you experience the Havel with all your senses: hearing the water rush and splash; seeing the current lazily rolling towards the Elbe; smelling the stagnant river water decaying in old arms; feeling whether the water is still fresh and cool from the previous night, or if the sun has already warmed it; tasting what the fisherman has prepared deliciously from what he has wrested from the river. The fishing boat glides slowly downstream, the motor hums, and a ranger shares interesting and informative insights about the Havel, particularly regarding the Havel renaturation, the largest river renaturation project in Central Europe. A glance up at the majestic Havelberg Cathedral overlooking the river makes time fly – but the cozy return journey still lies ahead, which may convey different impressions.
