Almabtrieb von der Mayerlehenhütte/ Gruberalm

Every year, the cattle drive is a special celebration in the alpine summer life! Once the animals have survived the summer without an accident, they are festively decorated and driven down into the valley with a big party. Every year, the cattle drive from the Gruberalm is a fixture in Hintersee. From 11:00 a.m., you can fortify yourself with hearty Alpine fare and listen to the last sounds of the Alpine pastures. At 13:00, the cattle are decorated and at around 14:30, the Alpine herdsmen and women and their animals head down into the valley. A well-signposted path leads from the Lämmerbach car park to the Gruberalm/Grubenbachhütte (approx. 45 minutes). Be there when the cows are prepared & crowned with musical accompaniment. In the event of rain, the cattle drive will be postponed until Sunday, unless the weather forecast for Sunday does not indicate better weather, in which case the cattle drive will take place on Saturday as planned.
