Zum Homborn 13, 46325 Borken

The forest area "Die Berge" in the Hohe Mark Nature Park, shaped by its glacial origin, features a characteristic vegetation and diverse species structure. The LandStreifer "Die Berge" is a circular hiking trail of about 14 kilometers in length, with a moderate level of difficulty, connecting significant nature conservation areas such as "Lünsberg and the Hornborn Spring." A qualified nature and landscape guide accompanies participants, providing insights into the cultural and historical development, as well as the regional flora and fauna. The hike begins at Forellenhof and leads through forest types, sandy dry grasslands, and heath remnants that offer essential habitats for various animal species. The 92-meter-high Lünsberg, with its ancient oak tree (a natural monument), provides a panoramic view extending to Ramsdorf. The LandStreifer, initiated by the Hohe Mark Nature Park and the cities of Borken and Velen, was officially opened in April 2025. The expert hiking guidance is organized by the Naturparkführer Hohe Mark e.V. in cooperation with the Hohe Mark Nature Park and the city of Borken.
