We discover Rome! In 2026, the Stade museums, together with the Athenaeum Gymnasium and the Vincent-Lübeck-Gymnasium, will once again offer their popular Latin course. During the week from February 10 to 13, 2026, students from the 9th and 10th grades of both Stade high schools will playfully introduce 4th-grade elementary school students to the culture and language of ancient Rome at various interactive stations. The course aims to spark enthusiasm for the Latin language and provides an accessible, interactive experience for all children who want to gain a first insight into ancient history. Latin is not only an important foreign language in modern Europe but also conveys valuable knowledge about the cultural roots of our society.

In small groups, the children will visit different interactive stations with the older scouts, where they will learn exciting things about Roman life in various ways: there will be painting, games, dressing up, and puzzles – and those who wish can also engage with grammar and vocabulary.

All fourth graders are invited to the event, whether alone, with friends, or as a class. Various time slots are available: from Tuesday, February 10, to Friday, February 13, the time slots from 9:00 to 10:30 AM or from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM can be booked. A fee of €2 per person will be charged, while accompanying persons can participate free of charge. Registration is requested by January 24.
