Prenzlau has had two Jewish cemeteries throughout its history, which tell much about coexistence, but also about exclusion and violence. The Jewish cemetery in today's city park was destroyed during the Night of Broken Glass in 1938. The second Jewish cemetery at Süßer Grund has survived the test of time. It is now considered one of the most beautiful and best-preserved Jewish cemeteries in Brandenburg. Its gravestones tell the story of Jewish life in Prenzlau. This city exploration connects both sites. It invites you to make Jewish life in Prenzlau visible while also tracing the destruction and loss. A walk of remembrance, reflection, and observation.
