25 Years - for the LOVE of Sound

The universe of sounds seems boundless and seductively unreachable. The twenty-five years dedicated to the resonant music from and at Lake Wörthersee undoubtedly confirm that it is always possible again. The program of the 25th WörtherSee Classics Festival shines through the diversity of musical heritage and is dedicated to the celebrations of its 25th anniversary.

Right at the beginning, we are honored by the festival orchestra Capella Mahleriana, under the masterful direction of Toshiyuki Shimada, with the 3rd Symphony by Robert Schumann and the Piano Concerto by Edvard Grieg, enriched by the musical maturity of soloist Alexei Kornienko.

The musical journey further leads us to an evening of dialogue between Elena Denisova and the principal soloist Darko Brlek, featuring the Clarinet and Violin Concerto by Carl Stamitz, and in the second part, the Double Concerto by Johannes Brahms. Eldar Saparaev, known for his powerful tone, takes on the cello part. At the podium stands Alexander Sladkovsky, who already captivated the Carinthian audience in 2013.

The third evening is dedicated to the emotions of the great master of vocal lyricism. 46 Italian love poems, set to music by Hugo Wolf, are featured in the program as the "Italian Songbook." Eva Zalenga (soprano), Tobias Lusser (baritone), and pianist Maximilian Kromer, who has already achieved a resounding success at the festival, form a harmonious trio in honor of the Wörthersee composer.

On the fourth day of the event, the Keller Quartet dedicates itself to Franz Schubert's "Death and the Maiden" and Robert Schumann's Quintet, joined by Alexei Kornienko at the piano. Dr. Wilhelm Sinkovicz guides the musical performances on stage with his unforgettable moderation. The early summer Carinthian natural landscape, the unique lake, and the unforgettable music intertwine harmoniously into a total work of art.
