It all began in 2005 with the release of the first album. Since then, the musical project led by the dynamic multi-instrumentalist and composer Herbert Pixner has steadily evolved. Pixner often works with concise, direct, and ironic references on the edge of sarcasm and is a true sound artist with a subversive soul, using his musical creations as a form of social provocation without acting with a raised finger. The relaxed musical engagement between tradition, punk, blues, classical, psychedelic, and their progressive connections, along with bold arrangements and instrumentation, as well as immense joy in playing combined with an endless desire for improvisation, have become the hallmark of the Herbert Pixner Project, which has effortlessly filled the largest concert halls throughout the German-speaking world for years. Thus, the unconventional instrumental formation quickly transformed from a hidden gem into one of the most sought-after and trendy music acts in the entire German-speaking region and beyond. After more than 2,000 sold-out concerts, collaborations with various orchestras, and more than two dozen released albums, the "Herbert Pixner Project" will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2025 with a best-of program.
