MÁTYÁS BARTHA TRIO featuring SCOTT ROBINSON

In 2025, the American saxophonist Scott Robinson recorded their first joint album with the trio of pianist Mátyás Bartha, which will be released in 2026. Their collaboration encompasses a remarkably wide repertoire—from Sidney Bechet to Charles Strouse—united by a deep attention to lyricism and musical storytelling. Robinson, known for his work with Chet Baker, Maria Schneider, John Zorn, and Lionel Hampton, plays tenor saxophone, trumpet, and the Hungarian tárogató. The Vienna-based trio, active for over five years, brings clarity, depth, and vibrant interplay to this versatile program of original compositions, rarely played gems, and expressive reinterpretations from the American Songbook and beyond.
