The popular actor and Everyman performer Philipp Hochmair creates an evening filled with grand, theatrical expressiveness that closely intertwines literature and music: He reads from Adalbert Stifter's story "Der Hagestolz" while guiding the audience through Stifter's landscape imagery as well as the tension between youth and old age, intimacy and loneliness. Between the text passages, the Austrian Salonists add musical accents with specially arranged excerpts from the works of Anton Bruckner – in an unusual chamber ensemble featuring violin, bayan (accordion), cello, and double bass. This creates a flowing dialogue of word and sound that opens new perspectives on Stifter's narrative and makes the evening an intense "word-sound" experience. Convincing and powerful!
