ROBERT BALZER TRIO

One of the best Czech jazz trios will perform with a new program as part of a collaboration with the Jazzfest Znojmo in Drosendorf. Founded in 1996 by double bassist Robert Balzar, the trio has since released 7 albums and is perfectly synchronized. This formation presents a new, contemporary sound created by three experienced musicians who form a complete unity. The majority of the repertoire consists of original compositions and selected jazz standards. The trio's music respects the typical principles of jazz and is built on melody and rhythmic precision. Double bassist Robert Balzar is considered one of the most significant Czech jazz bassists, associated with the developmental line of the famous Czech bass school, represented by world-renowned musicians such as George Mraz and Miroslav Vitouš. The current lineup of the Balzar Trio also features the phenomenal pianist Vít Křišťan and the excellent drummer from Brno, Kamil Slezák.
