Theme tour "Experience the Middle Ages - how it really was"

Please meet in the castle courtyard. Experience an extraordinary themed tour through the Middle Ages at Blankenburg Castle – authentic, well-researched, and surprisingly different! Immerse yourself in the real life of the castle: from the daily lives of knights and nobles to the lives of citizens and peasants, as well as the often-overlooked worlds of women and faith in the Middle Ages. We debunk false clichés and show how diverse, nuanced, and human the Middle Ages truly were – beyond film clichés and grim textbook images. From the Middle Ages to the Renaissance – told with heart, knowledge, and humor. Ideal for history enthusiasts, families, the education-minded, and the curious!

The Great Castle is a historical monument. Due to ongoing renovation work, there may be restrictions during the tour. The route through the building is unfortunately not barrier-free. Some stairs must be navigated.

No reservation is necessary. Duration: approximately 60-80 minutes. Prices: Adults (14 years and older) €8.00 | Children under 14 years have free admission.

Access to the castle: Schleinitzstrasse - Schieferberg - Friederike-Caroline-Neuber-Straße (formerly Herzogweg). A large parking area is available (gravel surface). The castle guides work exclusively on a voluntary basis. All proceeds go towards the reconstruction and further renovation of the monument.
