Community Cinema: Sentimental Value

With the founding of the Municipal Cinema Diepholz in 1987, a success story began that continues to this day. Many of the guests are long-time "regulars" who have been visiting the cinema for years. The focus is on special and as current as possible films that are rarely or never shown in the region's cinemas. Nora Borg and her sister Agnes are holding a memorial service for their deceased mother in Oslo when unexpectedly their father Gustav appears, from whom they have become completely estranged. The former star film director left the family for the sake of his career when the children were still small and has now returned to reconnect with his former glory: with an autobiographical film about his mother, using the family home as the filming location, and Nora, who has since become a very successful theater actress, in the lead role. However, she strictly refuses, as she is too traumatized by the past. While a well-known American actress takes on the role, Gustav now tries to reconnect with his daughters during the filming.
