Community Cinema: Sorry, Baby

With the founding of the Municipal Cinema Diepholz in 1987, a success story began that continues to this day. Many of the guests are long-time "regulars" who have been visiting the cinema for years. The focus is on special and as current as possible films that are rarely or never shown in the region's cinemas.

On this evening, the film "Sorry, Baby" will be shown. Agnes is studying literature at the University of Massachusetts and is working on her doctoral thesis. She contemplates starting a flirtation with her attractive, well-liked doctoral advisor, which her best friend Lydie, with whom she shares an apartment, initially encourages. However, during a consultation at the professor's house, Agnes suffers a severe sexual assault that shakes her entire life and continues to affect her for years. It takes her a lot of strength to find herself again. Her best friend supports her and helps her return to life, but then moves away to start a family. Agnes becomes lonely, pursues her career, and becomes a professor at her old university. Very slowly, she finds the courage to form new connections, not least because her kind neighbor Gavin provides her with support.
