Wellestrasse 26, 49356 Diepholz

The founding of the municipal cinema Diepholz in 1987 marked the beginning of a success story that continues to this day. Many of the guests are long-time "regulars" who have been visiting the cinema for years. The focus is on special and as current as possible films that are rarely or never shown in the region's cinemas.

When: Every Monday evening
Price per person: €10.50 / reduced €8.50

On this evening, the film "Hamnet" will be shown. In the late 16th century, the young William Shakespeare falls in love with the mysterious Agnes, who is not a good match. Nevertheless, they marry, are happy, and soon have a daughter together, followed by twins Giulia and Hamnet. However, even before their birth, Agnes is haunted by the vision that one of these children will not survive. She is especially worried about the frail girl. Meanwhile, the father spends less and less time with his family and more in London, where he gains fame and earns a lot of money with his plays. The couple grows apart until their only son dies of the bubonic plague at the age of eleven. William is devastated and processes his grief in the play "Hamlet," which Agnes initially rejects but ultimately becomes a source of comfort for both of them.
