The latest creation from the spice box of the Leipzig Pepper Mill. We are sitting in detention. In ridiculousness: The world is holding its belly from laughing – Germany is having fun once again. We are the pioneers on the warhorse. The state leads the way, but the citizens can no longer keep up. Everyone has an opinion, but no one has a clue. We come up with all sorts of ideas – including our bridges. In the past, the railway was valued, today travel times are what matter. E-mail, E-car, E-goists. We continue as if there were no tomorrow. Because not every day is the end of the day. Citizens sweeten their lives with empty promises. The government is at a loss – the people are listless. Democracy is taking off, the farmer is on the move. The boomers step into the shadows and the youth have no clue. We wait for the economic miracle and experience our own version of it. Some feel foreign in their own country, while others behave as if they were at home. The chancellor shakes hands, the people shake their heads. Not with us – but with whom then? No jokes? Quite the opposite. The pepper mill coughs up something for the spirit of the times. Because coughing is just laughter stuck in the throat.
