Angels with and without belly buttons

This is a completely new perspective on the Upper Swabian Baroque Road with its many small angels, the so-called putti. Lecture at the parish hall followed by a guided tour of St. Bernhard Parish Church. Although the churches represent great art, if the angels have a belly button, they cannot come from heaven and be spiritual beings. The belly button indicates that they were born of a woman, and originally that was the pagan goddess Venus. The speaker, Dr. Helga Müller-Schnepper, amusingly develops in her lecture how these little pagans conquered Christian art and why angels also like to wear nightgowns. Strengthened by this, the subsequent church tour offers a new perspective on the familiar.
