9th Upper Swabian Seed Festival

For years, the diversity of seeds has been rapidly declining. A few corporations control the supply and focus on varieties that are not suitable for further propagation. The gene pool is shrinking—posing enormous risks for global food security and devastating consequences for species conservation. With the Oberschwäbisches Seed Festival, the Working Group of Wild Gardeners of the BUND District Association Biberach and seed custodian Klaus Lang are making an important contribution to the preservation of historical seeds. The 9th festival will take place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Stadthalle Bad Schussenried, Schulstraße 22. Admission costs three euros. At more than 30 stands, rare seeds, forgotten potato varieties, historical tomatoes, herbs, and fragrant plants can be purchased. There will also be exciting lectures about seeds and gardening once again this time.
