It was only in the Middle Ages that their culinary advantages were discovered. Cheese is, according to ancient books, an invention of the Greek gods. In fact, people in the Stone Age already discovered that milk curdles in a warm place, thus recognizing the principle of milk souring. Milk was transported in stomach linings, and the rennet contained within leads to the separation of curds and whey – and voilà, you have cheese. It’s actually quite simple; you just have to know how it’s done. In this small workshop, we will make butter and buttermilk, prepare fresh cheese, and then taste the results. Please bring: 2 empty and very clean jam jars with lids, 1 cutting board, 1 knife, an apron, a dish towel, writing materials, and 1 plastic bag.
