FSK 0 | Documentary Film | Sunday Matinee | In cooperation with the Landfrauen and Hof.Kultur-Dassel e.V. Both filmmakers (Johannes Kohout & Janek Totaro) will be present and provide an introduction to the film. Following the screening, a joint discussion and freshly prepared waffles are planned. The event will be moderated by Inge Cramm. "Much is said about agriculture. About what it is, what it must achieve, and what it should become. But what emerges when one does not demand, but listens? The film 'Höfe – Family, Economy, Change' follows four farms in Lower Saxony – two dairy farms and two pig farms, both organic and conventional, large and small. It captures their daily work: routines in the barn, decisions in the office, conversations on the farm. Around them, voices from science, politics, and consulting gather – an echo of what approaches them from the outside. The film avoids the big questions about the future of agriculture yet still provides answers. For amidst familial responsibility, economic pressure, and societal demands, the outlines of a constant process of change emerge in subtle undertones. A documentary portrait of agricultural work as a reflection of an industry – and about farms that produce daily what we consume daily." In cooperation with the Network for Agricultural Transformation Research in Lower Saxony, including: Network for Agricultural Transformation Research, BMEL Nds., Department of Animal Sciences Göttingen, Agricultural Chamber Nds., and various agricultural production enterprises.
