The exhibition **“Fragile-Stable” by Velia Dietz** will be on view from March 26 to June 14, 2026, at the City and Half-Timbered House Museum “Alte Universität” in Eppingen. Velia Dietz works at the intersection of design and art. Her fragile textile objects cover the exhibition space with delicate structures and sculptural pieces. The artist enthusiastically explores the possibilities of glass, plastic, and wood in combination with textiles. A wide variety of foreign materials are processed, in part using classic textile techniques such as knitting, embroidery, and printing. From this context emerge textile objects for both indoor and outdoor spaces. Her passion for transcending textile boundaries and working across disciplines began during her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. This is reflected in interdisciplinary projects with scientific institutions such as the Fraunhofer Institute in Kassel or the Institute for Lake Research in Baden-Württemberg. For many years, Velia Dietz has been critically engaging with the flood of discarded and thrown-away materials. Objects that are often barely noticed in everyday life are given a completely new look through textile, aesthetic processing. This new perspective, often only recognizable at second or third glance, draws attention to pressing environmental issues, such as plastic pollution in the oceans.
