Waterway Management - The ACHer-toTAL Beautiful - Family Tour

The Acher-toTAL is beautiful. The Acher brings life to the Achertal with its fresh water. Those who follow its course will be taken into an interesting journey of life and waterways. It has shaped the valley, created habitats for plants and animals, and ultimately enabled humans to find a basis for life in the valley. We will take the bus to Ruhestein and start at the source in the sandstone cliffs, accompanying the Acher on its way down the valley to our destination, Ottenhöfen. The topics of this tour range from the geology and formation of the Black Forest, the use of hydropower over the centuries, to the settlement and development of the valley, which can be seen and experienced directly along the "wayside" during the hike. Meeting point: 08:40 AM at Ottenhöfen train station – the current time will be announced after the new bus schedule is released. Length: 8 km | Duration: approx. 4 hours.
