**The Beautiful Acher Valley** With its fresh water, the Acher River brings life to the Acher Valley. Those who follow its course are drawn into an intriguing journey through nature and the river’s flow. It has shaped the valley, created habitats for plants and animals, and ultimately enabled people to make a living in the valley. We take the bus to Ruhestein and start at the spring in the sandstone reefs, accompanying the Acher on its way down into the valley to our destination, Ottenhöfen. The topics covered on this tour range from the geology and formation of the Black Forest, the use of hydropower over the centuries, to the settlement and development of the valley—all of which can be seen and experienced firsthand along the trail during the hike. Meeting point: 8:40 a.m. at Ottenhöfen train station – the exact time will be announced once the new bus schedule is released.
