A summer evening filled with timeless classics of jazz and Broadway musicals from the legendary "Great American Songbook": unforgettable melodies by the likes of Cole Porter and George Gershwin that have captivated and enchanted generations time and again. Composer Patrick Zimmerli brings the beauty of the songs to life with fresh, tailor-made orchestral arrangements. The great history of film also finds its place in the program: music from Alfred Hitchcock's "Vertigo" appears in an orchestral suite, compellingly rearranged by none other than the composer himself, Bernard Herrmann. The evening concludes with a symphonic suite from Kurt Weill's Broadway classic "Lady in the Dark," promising to delight both musical and classical music lovers alike.
