Untere Donaulände 7, 4010 Linz

In a very short time, pianist Seong-Jin Cho has risen to the international top of piano virtuosos, having won first prize at the International Chopin Competition in 2015 at the age of twenty, placing him alongside legends such as Maurizio Pollini, Martha Argerich, and Krystian Zimerman – and now he will be performing in Linz for the first time! His interpretations are characterized by an almost endless love for detail, with which Cho brings out brilliantly nuanced textures and timbres. For his debut at the Brucknerhaus, he is bringing one of the most beloved romantic piano concertos: Rachmaninoff's 2nd Piano Concerto. He will be accompanied by an ensemble that is undoubtedly among the best in the world: The Czech Philharmonic is famous for its warm, dark, typically Bohemian sound, which comes to life perfectly in the late romantic repertoire. In the second half of the concert, the historic Prague orchestra and chief conductor Semyon Bychkov will heat things up with Rachmaninoff's Symphonic Dances, which the composer himself referred to as "his best work" for good reason.
