Among the many international piano competitions, the Concours Géza Anda holds a special position—not only because of its jury, which is composed each time of outstanding figures from the music world. Additionally, the Concours Géza Anda is not just about the representative act of the final concert and a substantial prize money: The Géza Anda Foundation commits to mentoring the winners for three years and providing them with performance opportunities, among other things. Thus, classic.Esterházy warmly welcomes two outstanding prize winners of the 16th Concours Géza Anda: the Moscow-born pianist Ilya Shmukler (winner of the First Prize, the Audience Prize, the Mozart Prize, the Junior Jury Award, and the Special Prize of the Hungarian Radio's ensembles) and his colleague Daumants Liepiņš from Latvia (winner of the Second Prize ex aequo and the Prix Fondation Thiébaud-Frey). They will demonstrate their technical brilliance and musical expressiveness not only in solo performances but also together with Rico Gulda, the General Director of the Esterhazy Private Foundation.
