Public tour of the Conradin Kreutzer School

"One of the most modern and exemplary school buildings in the Duchy of Baden" – the school building of the Conradin Kreutzer School, Meßkirch Guided tour as part of the 2026 cultural focus on "Education" by the Kulturforum Landkreis Sigmaringen e.V. The fact that there is a secondary school in Meßkirch can be traced back to the commitment of the bourgeoisie around 1900. In 1904, the building was completed as a primary and secondary school after the old one on Schlossstraße had become too small. The commission was given to the Constance architect Carl Engelhorn, who had also designed the town hall. The building was characterized by bright classrooms and well-equipped specialist rooms. Teachers' apartments and student toilets were located outside, and there was central heating and electric lighting. The tour will also take you inside the school building and show you the historic auditorium. Today, the building houses the Conradin Kreutzer School in Meßkirch, a primary and secondary school.
