Riccardo Muti celebrates his debut at Grafenegg with Rudolf Buchbinder: both are united by their curiosity, spontaneity, and humor – three ingredients that make a long, happy life as a musician possible. Together, they ensure the transmission of a great musical tradition to the next generation. Throughout his life, Riccardo Muti has dedicated himself as one of the most distinguished interpreters to the music of Giuseppe Verdi. After Grafenegg, he brings the ballet music from "I vespri siciliani" and the Nocturne by the much too seldom performed Giuseppe Martucci. On this evening, Rudolf Buchbinder bids farewell with Mozart's Piano Concerto in D minor after 20 successful, unforgettable summers as artistic director at Grafenegg.
