The duo Carpe Diem, featuring Johanna Bohnen (violin) and Barbara Lechner (classical guitar), warmly invites you and your mothers to an entertaining and virtuosic concert for Mother's Day. On this occasion, we want to present not only a "serenade" by Franz Schubert but also many other works ranging from classical to Spanish and Latin American music, including pieces by Manuel de Falla, Pablo de Sarasate, and Astor Piazzolla, as well as popular hits from well-known stars like Edith Piaf, Falco, and Heintje.

Solo performances with the Reutlingen Youth Orchestra, study years in the USA, in San Diego, with solo and chamber music performances, 1991 scholarship for the "Aspen Music Festival," Colorado, lessons with Donald Weilerstein, Cleveland String Quartet, scholarship for violin and string quartet studies at the University of Akron, Ohio, studies and concert exam in Düsseldorf; principal second violinist in the Bruckner Orchestra Linz, co-founder of the chamber music series Mosaik, member of the Franz Xaver Frenzel Quartet, chamber music and solo activities both domestically and internationally, and as a soloist with the Bruckner Orchestra Linz.
Barbara Lechner, Classical Guitar
University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, diploma in guitar concert performance, graduation as Magistra Artis in instrumental pedagogy, Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, diploma in artistic maturity examination in guitar; active for over 20 years as a soloist, in chamber music, in the classical field, and in cross-over projects, with more than 1,000 performances and concerts on city stages, in theaters, nursing homes, schools, museums, and even on cruise ships; concert programs with actors and dancers, arrangements for solo guitar and various ensembles, numerous CD recordings, and multiple award winner at competitions.
