Hans Theessink Band

After more than 8000 concerts and 50 years "on the road," Hans Theessink is an institution in the realm of blues and roots music. The multiple Amadeus Award winner Hans Theessink, with his sonorous voice and distinctive guitar style, is in demand worldwide and is always a guarantee for high-quality blues and roots music. His tours take him through Europe, North America, Asia, New Zealand, and Australia.

The US blues press called him "An international blues treasure," and the legendary Bo Diddley remarked that Hans is "A hell of a good guitarist." He has released 30 albums, a songbook, a teaching video, and a DVD. The current album "75 Birthday Bash" on vinyl and double CD has been named Album of the Month in the German Stereoplay - "Almost magical" (Bluesnews).

In 2001, he was awarded the Golden Rathausmann by the city of Vienna for his services as a musical ambassador. In 2010, he received the Golden Merit Award from the state of Vienna. Hans has won various Amadeus Awards and Danish Music Awards. He was also nominated for a Grammy and the Blues Music Award in 2009 in Memphis, TN. In 2018, Hans was inducted into The Dutch Blues Hall Of Fame.
