Jacqueline Kornmüller: Leaving the House & 6 out of 49

Jacqueline Kornmüller comes to the city library to read from her story "Leaving the House" and from her novel "6 out of 49." In "Leaving the House," she tells of the special relationship a woman has with an old fieldstone house, which she lovingly inhabits for years, until it becomes clear at the planned farewell that even a house relationship cannot be dissolved without resistance. The novel "6 out of 49" takes us to Bavaria in the 1920s and depicts the life journey of young Lina, who works her way up from kitchen maid to hotel owner and inspires others with her unwavering belief in happiness. Jacqueline Kornmüller is a director, actress, and author, living in Vienna, and celebrated her literary breakthrough in 2024 with "Leaving the House"; the event is a collaboration between the Dornbirn City Library and the Dornbirn City Museum.
