Family Leadership: Life in the Medieval Monastery of Lorsch

In the Lorsch Monastery, not only monks lived and worked during the Middle Ages. Serf farmers assisted the monks with fieldwork, food supply, and textile production. Noble ladies and gentlemen pilgrimed to the monastery to do something for their souls. Kings and emperors, along with their wives, were guests at the monastery to stay, conduct important business, and have documents issued. In the tour, we will explore the life in a medieval monastery in a child-friendly manner and look at what archaeological evidence we can find.
