J. S. Bach: St. John Passion

Traditionally, during Lent, the Wiltener Sängerknaben present a Passion by J. S. Bach, this time the St. John Passion, one of the most brilliant and moving works in the history of mankind. With the chamber choir and soloists from their own ranks of boys' and men's voices, just as in Bach's times, they perform a varied repertoire ranging from intimate small ensembles to large, powerful choruses. The radiant sound of the boys' voices is accompanied by specialists in historical instruments from the Tyrolean Baroque Orchestra Academia Jacobus Stainer, filling the dignified Rococo space of the Wiltener Basilica.
