Carnival in the Swabian Hall style - Hallia Venezia is the quiet carnival variant from the Italian city by the lagoon. Before the big carnival celebrations begin nationwide, around 100 masked participants in creatively designed costumes silently stroll through the streets of the old town on Sunday, eight days before Rose Monday, starting at 12 PM. They present themselves to the audience in the marketplace, on the steps of St. Michael, and at many other locations - a colorful, silent feast for the senses.
