National Park Mudflat Hiking: To the Island of Spiekeroog

Directly from the mudflat edge in Harlesiel, we embark on a sporty 9-kilometer trek through the mudflats towards Spiekeroog. With our eyes set on the beautiful island, we pass by typical inhabitants of the mudflats, marvel at the unique nature found alone in the wilderness of the Wadden Sea, and feel the ground beneath our feet, which is in a constant state of change. Over mud flats, past mussel banks, and through channels, we then reach the salt marsh of Spiekeroog. The day can be spent on the island at your leisure. Afterwards, we will take the ferry back to Neuharlingersiel on the mainland.

Note: The mudflat hike to Spiekeroog is beautiful and challenging - a certain level of fitness is therefore necessary. A ferry ticket back to the mainland is already included. Please select when booking the event whether you would like to return to the mainland with the regular (N) or the express ferry (E) by choosing the appropriate tickets. The express ferry will allow you to reach the bus from Neuharlingersiel landing to Carolinensiel/Harlesiel. The ferry times on the event days are as follows:
- 17.07.25: 16:15 (E) or 18:00 (N)
- 31.07.25: 16:15 (E) or 19:00 (N)
- 16.08.25: 16:15 (E) or 19:00 (N)
- 01.09.25: 16:15 (E) or 18:15 (N)

Dogs are welcome to participate in the event; however, due to the mussel fields in the mudflats, paw protection is strongly recommended. A ferry ticket for the dog can be booked during the reservation process.
