Rolando Villazón, Tenor
Janoska Ensemble
Classics by Mozart, Lehár, and Verdi, newly arranged in the unique Janoska style: opera, operetta, and fiery tango in an evening full of passion, virtuosity, and joy of life.
Rolando Villazón has long conquered all the major stages of the world. As Nemorino in "L'elisir d'amore" at the Vienna State Opera, as Alfredo in "La Traviata" at the Salzburg Festival, and as Rodolfo in Robert Dornhelm's film adaptation of "La Bohème," in all three cases alongside Anna Netrebko, he has inscribed himself in the annals of opera interpretation. But as a song interpreter and zarzuela singer, as well as with a repertoire ranging from Baroque to contemporary, Villazón demonstrates his skill. The author, illustrator, and comedian has also found success as a director, serves as a cultural ambassador for his home country of Mexico, and is the artistic director of the Mozart Week in Salzburg. Together with the Janoska Ensemble, the tenor now approaches well-known classics by Mozart, Lehár, and Verdi under entirely new circumstances, which are performed in the unique Janoska style: this means opera, operetta, and tango in an evening full of passion, virtuosity, and joy of life.
