12-year-old Karli moves to the Alps with his family, where his parents finally fulfill their dream of owning a hotel. While exploring the former grand hotel, he discovers that he can travel through time in an old freight elevator – and ends up in the year 1938. There, Karli befriends a Jewish guest girl named Hannah and a shoeshiner named Georg. However, Karli does not dare to tell his friends what he learns about the year 1938 and why it is crucial for Hannah not to return to Berlin.
When Georg is wrongly accused of theft and fired, his new friends want to help him and find the real culprit. In the process, the three discover that strange things are happening in the hotel. The children decide to solve the mystery and find out that a huge secret lies behind the hotel facade!
THE SECRET FLOOR was filmed, among other locations, at Semmering and in Bad Gastein.
