Sofia, a bright and ambitious 17-year-old volleyball player, lives in a poor suburb of Brazil. Just on the eve of an important tournament that could determine her future, she learns about her unwanted pregnancy. However, terminating it—in a country that criminalizes abortions—is nearly impossible. Together with her friend and teammates, Sofia devises a plan and consequently comes under the scrutiny of religious fundamentalists.
