His conceptual and minimalist works start from the image and unfold sculpturally in space into multifaceted installations. Equipped with text and writing, supports, or barriers, they question visual habits, disrupt patterns of perception, comment on the present, and stand out with Auer's characteristic poetic humor. Sepp Auer, born in 1939 in Braunau am Inn, lives and works in St. Peter am Hart in Upper Austria. From 1975 to 2004, he taught at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. In addition to numerous works in public spaces, his work is represented in international museums and significant collections.
