Diving into the world of whales!

The Weidenzentrum and the National Park House Wurster Nordseeküste invite you to help create a very special nature artwork: a 7-meter-long, walkable sperm whale weaving will be further woven – and we need your support! Adults and children aged 6 and up (with assistance) are warmly invited to actively participate in the weaving. A new porpoise made of willow will also be created, and everyone aged 10 and up can help with that. Before we get started, various weaving techniques will be demonstrated and explained, which can then be tried out under guidance. The impressive whale is intended to last for many years and serve as a symbol for the protection of the marine world. Adults and children aged 6 and up can also weave their own small whale to take home. Additionally, there will be exciting information about the lives of sperm whales and our local porpoises, as well as their connection to the North Sea coast.
