Brunshausen Nr. 7, 37581 Bad Gandersheim

The Art Circle Kloster Brunshausen will showcase predominantly paintings on canvas in mixed media using various primarily natural materials by the Northeim artist Katrinia Rindsberg starting February 14, 2026. The artist was born in late 1968 in the south of England near the beautiful coastal town of Brighton and later moved to the mountains of Greater Manchester. Both areas were very inspiring and often subtly appear in her art. She studied at Chichester College until 2000. Since 1999, she has been working as a photographer. She has exhibited her works across Europe and is the photographer for the book "Herbs of the Northern Shaman" by Steve Andrews. Since 2013, she has also been active as an author, with works such as "A Vagrant Heart" (a romance novel published in 2014) and "The Cull" (a dystopian science fiction novel published in 2021), as well as "The Strangest of Hobbies" and "Horror Novel" (published in 2023). She has also written various poems that have been published in several books. Throughout the decades, she has held a variety of unusual jobs, including being a singer in several bands and working in a pipe organ factory. She has been employed as a head gardener in a mansion and castle, tried her hand at landscape gardening, and much more. She shared with the Art Circle: "I have been painting for about 8 years, but I have been creatively active my whole life. This exhibition is my first public presentation of my painted artworks, so I can only say that I hope this is the beginning of a very long career that I can proudly include in my resume later in life." Katrinia Rindsberg further stated: "The background of this exhibition: My artistic career began in the 90s in England as a photographer. I exhibited my works in England, Germany, and Italy, but with the advent of digital photography, I no longer felt unique. I turned to writing poetry and novels, which I enjoy very much, but I wanted more. I wanted to see my thoughts and dreams through my eyes and be able to show them physically to others. Initially, I focused mainly on canvas and oil paint, but I felt restricted by the drying time, although this technique is unmatched when it comes to creating real depth. I like to be able to implement new details immediately while they are still fresh in my heart and mind. Today, I work with all media and materials I need to complete a piece. Most often, I work with acrylics and watercolors, usually on canvas, but anything is possible. I am known for using wood, resin, plant materials, papyrus, and much more. Often, I return to a painting years later to finish it, but sometimes a piece is completed in just one day. I appreciate details. I can discover a small detail amidst the chaos of life, and then that is all I see. A blade of grass can be more impressive than the mountain in the distance. I am fascinated by the things we hope are real but cannot see. Another world, fairies, angels, ghosts, space – all of this regularly appears in my works. Mother Nature and history also play an important role. I love depth and texture, themes that provoke thought, and pure, unadulterated fantasy." The exhibition will be opened with a vernissage on February 14 at 4 PM. The exhibition will be open until March 15, 2026, in the seated and warm gallery of the Art Circle Kloster Brunshausen, located on the historic monastery hill next to the "Portal zur Geschichte (PZG)" museum, as well as between the Rose and Monastery Café, on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 3 PM to 5 PM, free of charge. The artist will be present on Sundays to answer any questions that may arise.
