Holy Mass for the Feast of the Patron Saint

Feast of the Assumption of Mary Like many other Cistercian churches, the Bronnbach Abbey Church is dedicated to the Assumption of Mary. The belief in the bodily and spiritual assumption of the Mother of God into heaven was only proclaimed as a dogma, meaning an unchangeable article of faith, by Pope Pius XII in 1950. However, the tradition and the feast honoring this occasion are much older. This not only emphasizes Mary's special position in God's plan of salvation but also serves as a promise to all people: just as the Mother of the Lord was taken up into heaven, body and soul, so too will all the deceased fully, including their earthly bodies, ascend to heaven. The solemn Mass for the "Feast of the Assumption of Mary" is another highlight in the Bronnbach church year. Holy Masses with the Fathers of the Missionaries of the Holy Family take place at 10:30 AM (with the blessing of herbs) and at 6:30 PM (with the blessing of herbs and procession).
